The Animals

Just a quick post tonight as it is almost finals and grading has to get caught up!

So far I have mentioned a monkey and donkeys. Now it is time for the lions and hyenas.

Tye usually has a bit of trouble sleeping while in Addis. This time he went prepared with sleeping pills. For the first three nights these helped him get over some jet lag. When he stopped taking the sleeping pills he would still wake up at night but could usually get back to sleep okay. What woke him up each night was barking dogs.

He asked his host about the dogs and his reply was, "They are just barking at the hyenas." He was told if he went for a walk just to cross the street and give them a wide berth. They usually are not a threat this way. All righty then!

One day the family went to visit the lion zoo. Tye was told before he went you could pet them but this was not something he intended to do. He said the guards warn visitors not to pet them but noticed many people did. Meron was the only one who got caught and reprimanded, of course!
